Shorebirds, elasmobranchs, marine reptiles and marine mammals are visible and charismatic animals that play key roles in marine ecosystems, have high cultural and economic value, and are under stress due to anthropogenic impacts.

We examine the evolution of complex signals and social behaviour, and integrate ecological, behavioural, physiological, population modelling, remote-sensing and genomic methods to identify human impacts on population health, behaviour, movement and resilience.

This will enable us to develop improved management strategies to conserve a range of iconic species.
