There is mounting pressure on farmed marine fish stocks as the need to feed a growing global population becomes more acute. Aquaculture facilities rely on healthy stocks that are resilient to disease and approaches that minimise local environmental impact.

We investigate how fish health can be protected, and how inland and blue-water aquaculture facilities can be more sustainably managed.

Current projects assess fish health, feeds and feed efficiency, water quality and facility design and location.
