Alumni who attended the first-ever alumni weekend at Heron Island couldn’t have been more glowing in their praise. And now the event has received formal recognition at the Engagement Australia Excellence Awards. A finalist in the Student and/or Alumni Engagement category, the program was highly commended by judges.
But it doesn’t take an award to see how truly amazing the experience was. Just take a look at the video and you’ll see what all the fuss is about. Huge thanks and kudos to the many staff and volunteers, including the fabulous ambassadors from UQ’s CoralWatch and the Heron Island team who went above and beyond the call of duty to share with guests the natural beauty of the island along with engaging research talks and tours.
