Volunteers needed for a creek monitoring program run by the Moggill Creek Catchment Group (MCCG).

We are assesing the health of our local creeks to assist in directing land and water management.

Help us in our important work to compile and collect baseline data about fish, macro-invertebrates, habitat and water quality in our catchment. Learn techniques to identify Moggill Catchment's native fish, plant and invertebrate species while getting hands-on experience in assesing riparian landscapes. We provide training for all data collection methods, so no prior experience needed!

Our main monitoring sessions are held twice a year, in April/May and October/November, but we are also looking for volunteers to help make monitoring more frequent and to help compile previous records. Data compilation can be completed in your own time and from home, and data collection is held on weekends, taking 0.5-1 day. We have a small induction for volunteers to help get to know each other and to go through our goals and monitoring methods.

If you would like to know more information about MCCG or are interested in volunteering, please email

Thank you!
