Hi, I am currently doing experiments at Heron Island Research Station with coral reef physiology.

I am looking for a responsible and committed person to be my volunteer at Heron Island for 4 to 6 weeks in mid-February 2018 on my last field trip. I will need help with my last measurements.

Estimated travel dates are from 16 Feb to 16 of March (depending on weather and experiment progress it can take up to 6 weeks).

Dives and snorkeling will be required, as I will be deploying incubation chambers at the reef flat and slope. I also will require assistance with measurements on my corals at the research station laboratory. I also will be taking down the experiment and retrieving equipment.

Some of the help will involve:

• Set up and preparation for incubation deployments at the reef.• Transport the coral back to the station and redeployment. • Perform measurement buoyant weight, volume, 3D photos and lab incubation.• Retrieve environmental data loggers for cleaning, data collection, and redeployment.

My lab usually pays accommodation and travel (from Brisbane). However, the volunteer will have to be responsible for his/her own food.

There will be some spare time for you to explore Heron Island and snorkel around the island.
