I'm mainly interested in visual ecology. I love to mix physics with biology to answer questions about how lens optics affects the ecology of animals, what visual cues are important for navigation, how does camouflage work, etc. In order to answer such questions, I use interdisciplinary methods involving custom-made gadgets that often require computer-machine interfaces in behavioral essays. My main research direction is of a basic-research nature, but I evaluate my results from an engineering point of view as well. I've completed my PhD at Lund University, Sweden (2010), and my postdoc at Duke University, USA (2013).
